Scanning

Before mining resources at your base, you need to discover deposits. This is accomplished by scanning your base for resource deposits using relevant scanners.
To initiate a scan, you must purchase a scanner from the market. Each scanner varies in specifications, including scan depth, running time, cooldown periods, price, and consumables required, enabling you to select one that aligns with your budget and strategic goals.
Scanners are capable of discovering only one deposit per scan. They cannot detect another deposit of the same resource within the same base if that resource's deposit has already been discovered and is not yet depleted.
Consumable Items for Scanning
The scanning process necessitates consumable items, introducing an additional layer of cost and strategy to resource discovery. Consumables can include items such as electricity, diesel, or specific minerals, each affecting the scanning process in unique ways. The investment in consumables for each scan can be significant, especially for scanners capable of reaching maximum depths.
Advancements and Location Effects
Technological advancements in scanning can enhance the speed and probability of detecting deposits. The geographical location of your base also influences the richness of the discovered resource, underscoring the importance of strategic base placement.
A successful scan adds a resource deposit to your base, making it available for extraction. The primary characteristics of a deposit include:
Deposit Richness: Determines the base rate of resource extraction. The rate can be increased by installing additional mines to target this specific resource.
Deposit Size: Indicates the total amount of the resource that can be mined before the deposit is depleted, affecting the duration of mining operations.
